Can you launch the iPhone Dev SKD off a flash drive on a Mac?
I run Linux on my home PC, but want develop applications for the App Store and I know he can not be run on a Mac. I go to Ohio State and we have some Mac labs here, but we can not install extra stuff on them, so I was wondering if there was a way to carry out all the SDK tools a flash drive and thrive on OSU Macs.
I do not know if this'd work, but it can: On a Mac you have administrator privileges, create a symbolic link in / Developer, and point to a new folder on your flash drive. Something like: ln-s / Developer / Volumes / MYFLASHDRIVE / MacDevKit Then install the iPhone SDK. I hope it will end on your flash drive. You will need the flash drive to be formatted HFS + for this work. If it works, then on a PC lab just the symbolic link itself and you should be golden.
